If you think about it, Devil May Cry 5 is to video games what Mad Max - Fury Road was to movies

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 10:30 AM PDT

If you think about it, Devil May Cry 5 is to video games what Mad Max - Fury Road was to movies

    - Both were long awaited additions to a long-standing franchise. (11 years and 30 years)

    - Both of them are now considered to be masterpieces in the action genre in their particular domains

    - Both have main characters who have a bionic arm. (Nero and Furiosa)

    - The main character of the series is actually a side character now. (Dante and Max)

    - Both were recognized and awarded by the industry ( Fury Road won 6 Oscars, the highest that year and DMC5 won the TGA - Best Action Game)

    - There's an indestructible vehicle in both of them (Nico's van and Furiosa's truck)

    - If you squint a bit, there are some similarities in dialogues and story lines as well. Dante calls Nero 'dead weight' and he ends up getting powerful enough to save everyone. Immortan Joe, the main antagonist in Fury Road calls Nux 'mediocre' in a scene and he ends up being responsible for the former's downfall towards the end of the movie.

That's all I could think of now

Legitimately I don't understand how it's possible to beat mission 10 Dante. He never seems vulnerable and his stupid gun barrages seem unavoidable

Are there any other games with something like Bloody Palace?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 01:52 PM PDT

I just love combo fighting, like in DMC (more than any fighting game actually), but would love to know if there are other non-DMC games with something like Bloody Palace.

A roguelite maybe, procedural and endless, or some chains of progressively harder levels with mainly melee combat against fodder or enemy gangs.

    Thanks!

DMC3 Help Needed: Agni and Rudra Million Slash

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 09:06 AM PDT

As someone new to DMC3, I need help consistently performing Agni and Rudra's Million Slash Crazy Combo. I can do Million Stab, Satellite, and Million Carats almost consistently (there's always that one screw up) but for the life of me I cannot get down Million Slash.

Any help would be much appreciated.

How will capcom replace Force Edge and Beowulf for Vergil in 5SE (Mild Spoilers)?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 03:58 AM PDT

With the next generation of consoles steadily approaching, I've found myself thinking more and more about dmc5SE. At this point I know it's inevitable looking at every game since dmc 3, so now it's just a waiting game. At the very least I know they'll find some way to make more money off of playable Vergil. I figured they'd most likely release an enhanced version of the game on the next gen consoles (don't know how long they'll take though). Regardless Capcom will finally need to confront the issue of giving Vergil new weapons (or be lazy and give him the same 2 additional weapons again). This isn't dmc3, or a prequel side story, and it takes place decades after dmc 1. Beowulf and Force Edge are long gone now. I'm hoping Capcom takes this opportunity to give Vergil two unique weapons to replace them. Hopefully they also give him a unique campaign, more than two cutscenes, and a few bosses tailored to him (that would be the dream).

To replace Force Edge, I really want Vergil to use Devil Sword Dante. This wouldn't be that difficult to pull off, could easily make sense story wise, could functionally be identically to Force Edge, and most importantly would be a testament to the end of the brother's resentment towards one another. I could imagine in a simple story that Vergil goes off to explore hell (maybe specifically to replace his missing weapons), and Dante gives him DSD as additional protection and show of good faith. That would show they now trust each other now and work together, but still fight each other for fun/sport (as the post credits cutscene hinted at). Plus it wouldn't exactly leave Dante Vulnerable as he has tons of other weapons and can literally summon it back whenever he wants. Of course Vergil doesn't have as powerful a connection to DSD (like Dante doesn't with the Yamato), so he wouldn't have access to the sword formations and it wouldn't give him an extra sin devil trigger. Basically to Vergil it'd be a really strong beatstick with demonic power. Depending on how much effort capcom wants to put it they could just make it a Force Edge clone with the DSD skin ontop of it, or give it unique effects for Vergil. I'd just be happy with what it would represent lore, story, and character wise.

To replace Beowulf, I really don't know. I assume Vergil could just defeat a powerful demon (the underworld should be brimming with them), and be awarded a beowulf like weapon. I really don't have much in terms of idea here. On that note, I do want Vergil to be given more than three weapons as he has been. He doesn't use guns, which gives him two inputs to rotate through weapons, so regardless of whether he has 3, 4, or 5, it will always be easier to switch between weapons with Vergil. Then they could also give the option to change/reorganize his loadout (or straight up remove weapons), so that those that don't want the change can have him just as he was in three.

Alternatively, Capcom has the option to just have Vergil make the weapon replacements like he does with his summoned swords and Nero did with his arms. There was the taunt in dmc4se where if done in his DT Vergil replaced force edge with a complete summoned sword replica (so at this point he and nero seem to have Green Lantern levels of construct abilities, or maybe unlimited blade works?). Or Capcom could just choose to flesh out his Yamato completely (and would suit his new character personality and acceptance of himself; it would show that he isn't chasing more power anymore, and is finally at peace).

Sorry for the long post. Vergil has just always been my favorite character (gameplay and story wise), and as a console peasant, I am in desperate need of dmc 5SE to make him playable. I've seen a few outlets talking about "enhanced" versions of dmc 5 and RE (whatever was latest; not my series) on next gen. I've always been expecting SE to release shortly (maybe a year) after next gen, and with next gen getting closer, my motivation just exploded. Other than this I just really want Vergil to have a base DT (like in the concept art with his black coat) and sin DT. Then if Capcom really wants to steal my heart they'd make the new campaign a small open world underworld with demons, bosses, and mobs to fight (and like a few random demons that actually want to talk). And yeah, I know of those is likely and the other isn't. Anyway, how do you want Capcom to replace both weapons? Or have you given up on Vergil getting new weapons and resolved to have the same weapons as in dmc3 again, and with the same format (where they just copy paste him into the campa and give two cutscenes that contribut just enough to the story to make you want more Vergil story)? Or do you just want him to use only the Yamato? It could be really interesting if they went the DmC route and gave Yamato different modes or styles with the buttons you'd use to change weapons.

Also does anyone know an email I can use to spam capcom with and flood them with ideas. I want to at least try and make sure Vergil gets the content he deserves. Plus, I'm really disappointed in how little ways I've found recently that I can give random feedback and suggest ideas for all companies and services in general. I get it, they might not want to read all the spam that would ensue, but us fans (at least I) would like some clear way to get our ideas across. They don't need to be incorporated, but I'd love them to be heard (read). I don't always just want to give feedback because I hate something, but because I generally want it to improve. And over a decade since dmc3SE, playable Vergil should be getting better treatment.

Is there ANY way possible to use mods from Nexus Mods to unlock / play as Vergil if I'm running the non-Steam version?
