    I wrote a story about Kyrie becoming a Devil Hunter: "Duet In SSS-Major"

    She even has her own battle theme.

    I always thought Kyrie was underused and that it was a crime. Just the idea of this incredibly and genuinely nice, wholesome person being Nero's anchor to the world was something we needed to see more of. So, when DMC5 decided not to give us that, I would have to do it instead.

    So I called it "Duet In SSS-Major."

    It's an action-packed story of Kyrie waking up in that goddamn Damsel Tube again, within a phantasmagoria of regrets and slain foes. She has a single lock of white hair to hint at her new, weak demonic powers, and two Order of the Sword familiars bound to her will. She will quickly discover that she needs to defend herself and rise to the challenge, because the story of a Devil May Cry game is inseparable from the story of you learning to get good at a Devil May Cry game.

    Featured in this story are: complete gameplay and story integration!

    "Fortissimo!" Kyrie commanded. They sort of jostled forward, offensive formation. "Pianissimo!" They scooted back to her to cover her. "Fortissimo. Pianissimo!" Jostle. Scoot. Like an exercise. "Fortissimo! Pianissimo! Fort-- bagh!" she shouted. "Gah, I bit my tongue!"

    Co-op gameplay!

    "This is... When was the last time he touched the ground?" Basilisk's awe was turning to genuine confusion.

    "He's Nero," Kyrie said reverently. "He doesn't touch the ground until he wants to."

    "this level of true power may be excessive"

    Meta commentary!

    "I do not say the place is PERFECT, no? But it would not be so miserable a place to revisit, is it? Dante, he learned much when he was here, I know that he invented many new things to use with his guns! And here we discovered the Bloody Palace, this is a good place to find, yes?"

    "Lucia? Lucia, you're starting to scare me."

    Musical theater!

    Nevan threw her arms out, and she was wreathed in what looked like a cloud of bats, crackling with lightning. "Anything you can do, I can do better!" she proclaimed. "I can do anything better than you!"

    Wholesome family moments!

    Gladius hovered up to the outstretched phone. "speaking" He nodded a bit. "correct servant of the master kyrie" The end of his tail swayed listlessly. "slash the enemies of the master enforce the master's will" He perched on the door, next to Kyrie's elbow, and looked at himself. "wings yes but wings fold into shape of blade not both at same time" Nod. "has the master given commands" Nod, nod. "obey the will of the master complete the homework grow in knowledge"

    Wacky woohoo times with a bunch of goobers who are so uncool they loop back around to cool again!

    "Hey. Hey. Hey." Basilisk pestered V. "I wanna super jump too. You know how to do that? I'm sick of this hovering yokel lording the sky over me!"

    "Hey!" Griffon snapped. "Who you callin' a yokel, you hunka hunka burning garbage?"

    "he refers to me he is an imperceptive fool who cannot see the true yokel"

    Beat.

    Beat.

    "it is you"

    So, anyway, I think it is pretty neat.
