Hi everyone ! I'm making a beat em up game like devil may cry. I try to make the fight phases the most intense possible and giving to the player the feeling of being overpowered.

I created the combat from scratch : https://youtu.be/uzTo5KPwAYw

A demo will be out in october, hope you'll enjoy it :)

How do you theorize DMC6 with a new antagonist along with Mundus? Nero vs new enemy and Vergil & Dante vs Mundus

    Posted: 17 Jun 2020 01:12 PM PDT

With Nero in the human world, there's bound to be something involving humans tampering with demonic power like Arkham and the Order. Something to make up for Arius. Nero needs more to strengthen his name and how to be a better protector of humanity than Dante was. He'll need a rival of course.

As for the brothers in the Demon World, they'll be hunting down Mundus. But how to make the former king better than he was?

Plus collide both heroes' campaigns in the final battle.

I've just realize today that all the lasers, fire balls, showers of light time warp bubles that urizen Throw at us during the game are all due to Yamato.

    Posted: 17 Jun 2020 12:48 PM PDT

When you destroy the cristal he becomes unable to use his magic and has to fight with qlippoth roots, and in mission 17 he can use his magic everytime because he has absorbed the Yamato.

The Yamato is definitively an incredible sword, don't know exactly the connection between those powers and cutting erything though.

(Question) Are the sparda trio's fighting skill and devil arm prowess a superpower?

    Posted: 17 Jun 2020 11:33 AM PDT

I believe that Dante and subsequently Nero and Vergil's fighting skill with swords, guns and basically any other weapon is an actual superpower of their Sparda heritage.

You can't deny that their precision(trick shots), body coordination and skill in fighting seems completely unnatural. Sure these guys did train all their lives and have a lot of experience but they still seems way too competent at it and Dante wasn't even 20 when he could do ricochets with his bullets, use any devil arm or his awesome agility.

What's more neither Dante or Vergil had any kind of teacher, all the skill they have learned on their own from experience which again looking at DMC3 when they were just barely older then teenagers doesn't seem like a long enough time to become that good. So I think this is a legit superpower giving them combat instincts, reflexes and senses which come as natural as breathing to them as if the martial art's knowledge and experience is encoded within their DNA.

This is also further proven by Dante and Vergil's ability to immediately learn how to perfectly wield any devil arm they find within seconds of acquiring it. I think this is again part of their superpower and Sparda heritage, just instinctively knowing how to use a new weapon. I'd say that Sparda, who is centuries old, had a lot of time to learn many different weapons and fighting styles and he passed that intricate knowledge and experience through his blood to his children.

Do you think this theory is plausible or am I just overthinking things?

Imagine if Devil May Cry 3 was the second game, but with 2's gameplay.

    Posted: 17 Jun 2020 02:44 PM PDT

We would all be saying "God damn it 3 had a cool setting but the combat sucked ass!" and then DMC3 would come out which would have 2's boring ass setting but with crazy combos and shit. That would have sucked lol.

    DMC 3 Newbie : Any combo suggestions/help/tips?

    Posted: 17 Jun 2020 06:07 PM PDT

Ive been practising the tech a lot, i come from fighting games and i love grinding execution in tech. However, this is the first game of this kind for me. I guess I need some smalls combos so I can start getting creative. Also I dont really know how I should be comboing. The way i see it in FG's is you typicallly have a launcher, filler, ender.

For example a small combo i'll do is Rebellions uppercut into helmbreaker, weapon switch to cerberus crystal into some kind of air combo. But thats all i have, and Im not very good at using it with crowds.

    I wanna be stylish :(
