    DMC5 Hell and Hell S ranking definitive strategy guide(Platinumers GTFIH)

    This is 100% legit as i used these strategies to S rank hell and hell in 5 days.

    Nero:

    • Prerequisites: being able to ex-act about half of your attacks or more and being comfortable with holding down gun or breaker whilst fighting.

    • When playing as nero and facing mobs you want to get as high as possible(triple jump plus air taunt), snatch enemies and do 2 aerial hits with melee button, JC and repeat. If youre falling then snatch immediately and JC then jump again and JC.

    • Another thing to note is that ragtime lasts about 11 seconds against enemy mobs and 5 seconds against bosses.

    • Pack 8 ragtimes. Never waste them on fodder enemies like scythes or cleaver guys. Try to not waste them but if you feel like youre in danger(if theres a lot of enemies who are mobile like those rolling lizards or birds that spew fire) then use them. Try to limit yourself to 3 or 4 maximum in one room. Once you get to the boss there will be a divinity statue or telephone which you can get more breakers with.

    • For bosses(except vergil), you want to pack 6 ragtimes, 1 buster arm and another ragtime. Keep your distance and watch your enemys attack pattern very closely whilst holding down gun. Do everything in your power to not get hit. Once your gun fully charges, youre in a safe position and your opponent is able to be shot at then release gun and then shoot again twice. After this hold your gun button and stay evasive and cautious. Keep it up until the boss is at 70ish% health then hold breaker instead of gun and wait until the boss has stopped attacking. Once the boss isnt preparing an attack and is close to you release breaker and as soon as slow world animation starts, hold breaker, activate DT and snatch the boss(to bring you to it). do two aerial combos(mash melee) with a JC inbetween and just after the second combo release breaker. rinse and repeat until youre out of ragtimes and then get the fuck away from the boss whilst holding breaker and deactivate DT. If you did it right then the boss should be in its "staggered" phase which makes it ripe for being bustered. Wail on the boss for about 3 seconds with RQ attacks then release buster arm and activate DT(if you have less than 4 bars id suggest activating it a few seconds into the animation for good measure as its crucial to have it on at the final hit which deals practically all of the damage). With DT mash shoot as much as possible and if theres any other gimmicks which boost damage like revving on artemis dont forget to do that too. If this is done right the boss should be dead and if it isnt then hold down ragtime as soon as the animation is finished and stay on the evasive. wait until the boss is in sight and its fully charged then release breaker and wail on the boss with RQ. this will definitely finish the boss.

    • Vergil. Pack a punch line, overture, buster arm, 2 punch lines, buster arm and 2 more punch lines. Hold gun and stay away from vergils attack. Use punch time when vergil isnt about to attack you. When he is vulnerable, get to him with payline or streak and wail on him if you can(dont go DT). Rinse and repeat until vergil staggers. Shoot punch line at him then when it circles him break away, then hold breaker as soon as the arm explodes. Wail on him with RQ attacks whilst the overture break age charges. Release it when the break age is ready then instantly start charging buster arm. Proceed to keep wailing on him with RQ until its fully charged. then release it and go DT, mash gun whilst the animation plays out and then go back to the beginning strategy. Keep doing this until he staggers again and break away to get to buster arm and use the break age as quickly as possible. If it fails break away and use your punch lines when you arent about to get hit try exploding the first one when vergil is vulnerable. Keep the last to keep using until he staggers at about 10% health then buster him with R2.

    Dante:

    • As a prerequisite you will need at least 8 million red orbs at your disposal

    • Faust hat will be required for two purposes:

    1. back + style(gunslinger) + R1 activates a mini faust which can shoot a stream of red orbs at your adversary by holding down shoot whilst you can do anything else with dante besides use your gun button. This means you can spam trickster dash whilst having shoot held down. Unless you have what it takes, you're going to have to rely on this cheesy tactic to get through a lot of roadblocks on HAH. This will make everything easier from weak fodder demons to tricky demons like the firebirds to tough bosses like urizen.

    2. forward + style(gunslinger) + R1 + hold will bring down meteors on your opponent which not only have a massive AoE that engulfs entire rooms but also can take bosses out in one hit if charged enough. As powerful as this seems it needs to be charged for a long time before you can use it. Charge this just as you enter an area where demons spawn so that you can unleash it once they do. The good thing is it clears rooms at level 1. You will know when it reaches level 1 as there will be a sound cue. For bosses you'd have to wait until they are staggered and then charge it to level 2 which is enough damage to kill them or take away virtually all of their health. This will be crucial.

    • You want to pack DSD and faust hat(other weapons/guns can help if you use them right but those two are required).

    • When it comes to mobs you will either go into rooms before demons spawn or rooms where they have already spawned(with cutscenes). The rooms before demons spawn are easy. You simply just charge RHN(the faust hat meteors) as soon as you hear the music change and by the time the demons spawn into the room RHN will hit level 1 and you can release it which should kill every demon. If there is a second wave of demons or it missed one or two(a rarity), instinctively mash trickster dash until you see which ones you didnt get, get as much distance as possible with trickster dash and make sure the demons arent about to attack and then do mini faust hat. use the dash and faust spam i mentioned above until they are all dead. If you land in a cutscene room where the demons are fully loaded at the start then do what i just said before this sentence. make sure you're in a safe position and demons arent about to attack you and make faust hat, you know what to do next.

    Bosses:

    • Phase 1 urizen. Do mini faust + dash trick until the shield breakers. dash with caution and jump if you need to(dont dash into the lasers or time slowing orbs). keep it up until the crystal shield breaks.

    • Phase 2 urizen. (dont convert DT to sin gauge) As SOON as the fight starts(this has to be done FAST. one split second off and you could get hit) hold L2 with lock on, then backflip and shoot off 2 fireballs(gun button) then instantly do judgement(melee + gun at same time). once this is done you will drop down from sin DT and urizen will be a fair distance away from dante. create mini faust and hold down gun whilst dashing away from urizen. he will send his tentacle at you so dash to the right then when it comes dash forwards and then to the forward left. Eventually it will come back to him. Keep doing this whilst being cautious and keeping a distance. He will stagger around the beginning but do not use RHN. Use a powerful damaging move that isnt RHN and once youre done, get back to the mini faust strategy. Keep doing this and once urizen is around half health he will start to do attacks where he spins around or a shockwave rather than send out tentacle. first disable the mini faust by clicking style with gunslinger then when you see him doing the animation charge up RHN at a good distance. when it reaches level 1 activate DT fire away. This will kill urizen.

    Cavaliere Angelo: He will start by firing bolts at you so make sure you are on trickster before starting the fight. dash away from the bolts and keep dashing until he stops attacking you. Make sure youre at a good distance and he wont fire any bolts or summon ground lightning to you. Then create the mini faust and do the spam orb + dash trick. keep doing this until he staggers or starts the animation where he electrifies himself(when he stands still holding his sword up in front of him). When this starts instantly drop the mini faust and charge up RHN to level 1 and a half(after level 1 wait 2 seconds) then activate DT and fire away. This should kill and if it doesnt, set up mini faust and do the trick whilst mashing dash relentlessly to finish him off.

    King cerberus: Dash 3 times away from it then set up mini faust and do the trick until KC is about to change element. The instant the animation starts drop the mini faust and charge RHN to level 1. The instant it hits level 1, fire away(in DT if you have it). If you are too late, dash out of RHN. After RHN the boss should still have some health left so just rinse and repeat.

    Urizen phase 3: The instant the fight starts charge RHN to level 2 and fire away in DT. this should chop off around half of urizens health bar. After this dash to safety and make sure urizen cant hit you then set up mini faust and do the trick. it will take quite a while(about 4-5 minutes) until urizen goes into his next phase so keep at it. The instant he backflips, drop the hat and charge RHN. After he backflips, he will teleport away and stand still preparing a shockwave. Charge RHN to level 2 and fire away in DT. This may not kill so if youre stuck in his final phase, spam dash until he stands still and charges and then double jump in the air(pack E&I to help stay in the air). After he unleashes the spikes and finishes his animation trick down and mash dash away from him. He will do 2 attacks. Once you finish avoiding them, hold down RHN again. He will back off and teleport. At level 1 fire your RHN if he has about 10% health left and he should be dead. If not forget about RHN(dont hold it down after he backs off and teleports) and create mini faust then do that trick whilst cautiously dodging the lasers with air dash and double jump. wait for the spikes, rinse and repeat until hes 10% health or less and then you can RHN after he backs off from his double attack after the spikes.

    Vs familiars - Set up mini faust before the fight and do the trick. you have to be extremely fucking cautious because all three of them are at you at once and nightmares ground sweeping laser is very good at exploiting the few vulnerability frames dantes trickster dash has. Try to hit nightmare with red orbs the most but stay out of his attack range. Soon he will melt away and you will be left with griffon and shadow. Keep doing the same thing. Nightmare will come back and shortly after he will take griffon and shadow to the area where you started out and they will glow and he will charge his beam. Make sure by then youre behind the rock at the opposite side of the arena. Drop the hat and charge RHN to level 3. Fire away in DT if nightmares vulnerable when you reach level 3. This will take away all of his health and you will just have to shoot the 3 orbs at the end.

    Vergil - Mini faust trick is your best friend here until vergil starts his judgement cut end animation. The instant he does this make sure you are out of its range as quickly as possible and charge RHN. After he sheathes he will then teleport back. By then you should have reached level 2. Just as he finished sheathing, fire away in DT. This will kill vergil.

    V: Stay away from demons as much as possible. If you are safe, read book. If not, mash sidestep with shadow. You want to always charge lightning with griffon whilst keeping shadow at safety for invincible sidestep abusing. if you dont need to sidestep and you're safe, read book. Nightmare is crucial as its the only familiar which can take more than one hit(for that matter its invincible and soaks up a lot of hits). NEVER mount nightmare. If you do this he will die in one hit. Only use him when you need to as he is crucial for survival.

    For bosses mash sidestep and hold lightning with griffon. If youre safe and the boss doesnt look like its going to attack, read book and have shadow do its head spike attack. Make sure you have a lot of DT bars before calling in nightmare unless the bosses health is very low(around 25% or below) in which you should call nightmare and have him and griffon do as much damage as possible to finish its health off. For the nidhogg boss nightmares ground to sky laser was built for this fight as it will kill all three heads. For this fight id suggest making sure you always have at least 4 bars so you can have nightmare take away the nidhoggs heads as soon as they respawn.

    For the boss rush, challenge goliath first with shadow. Keep your distance from goliath and press triangle when you want to make shadow go towards goliath. Have shadow go towards goliath and do its head spike when goliath looks like he isnt going to attack for a while. If you feel the boss is about to attack shadow, even mid head spike animation, instantly sidestep to bring him back. The same philosophy applies when goliath is about to attack you. Make sure shadow stays alive or else dodging goliaths charge attack will be very tricky. When shadow is preparing head spike use DT occasionally to buff it but dont do it too often. Save some for later. Make sure you sidestep constantly just after the DT'd head spike as the DT'd familiar do their own thing until the DT period wears off(about 5 seconds).

    Next challenge artemis with griffon and shadow. Like i said mash sidestep with shadow and hold charge blockade lightning with griffon. If artemis staggers summon shadow towards artemis with melee and prepare head spike then DT shadow during headspike whilst holding blockade lightning with griffon. after headspike, sidestep to keep shadow with you so he doesnt do his own thing. Go back to constantly sidestepping with shadow and preparing lightning with griffon, rinse and repeat until the boss dies.

    Then gather white orbs and challenge cavaliere with nightmare finally and use the same strategy i suggested with artemis but this time throwing nightmare in the mix. Once the fight starts summon nightmare, then mash sidestep, hold griffon lightning and so. You know what to do already. When you get down to about 3 DT bars call back nightmare. Dont use any DT for griffon or shadow btw.
