    Weekly SSStylish Round-Up Thread! [11-8-19]

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 03:37 AM PST

Hello, hello. It's a chilly Friday morning and I'm once again writing to you guys the SSStylish round-up thread. Hope everyone's weeks were great! We saw a lot of super awesome content this week, so keep it coming! I'm your poster, TheTenthDocter, and let's get right into the round-up. Here's five posts you might've missed throughout the week.

    First up we have:

UK Meet- Talking to some familiar faces via Skype by /u/DEVILNEVERCRY-YT

This awesome post was brought to us by DevilNeverCry, who you might've heard of. If you haven't: He's a pretty cool DMC YouTuber who releases some quality content. In this post he brought us an awesome video from a DMC meet-up where he and a few others chat with some familiar faces... Check it out!

    Second one up is:

A video of my nero cosplay I did a while back. Hot damn I love that jacket. by /u/-Jacket_

A cosplay post! I love seeing awesome cosplays and this video has -Jacket_ showing off his SSSmoking Sexy Style DMC5 Nero cosplay and comparing it to the game. Excellent work, man!

    Third up is:

These Vergil mods are getting ridiculous... by /u/mtzehvor

This post showcases a mod that makes Vergil in DMC5 harder. Which is actually pretty cool. This mod is made by Daigron. mtzehvor decides to fight Vergil on DMD and does a better job than I could've, honestly. Great work, mtzehvor. I actually had some difficulty with Vergil during my first playthrough personally but now I'm itching to make him harder.

Guess I should install the mod...

    Fourth up is:

Theory: Vergil New Powers dont derivate from the Fruit or V, but from Devil Bringer by /u/yellulzquiet

An interesting theory post by yellulzquiet discussing Vergil's new powers. Give it a read through and see what you think!

Final thing for this week is:

    Vergil x Demon Slayer :) by /u/_TheDangMan_

TheDangMan (@richarddang_art on Instagram) brings us an awesome post showing what Vergil might look like in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. Wonderfully done piece of art, almost makes me with Vergil really was in Demon Slayer.

That's all for this week! Thank you all for coming and checking out the thread. I'll be seein' you next week for the next edition of the Weekly SSStylish Round-Up Thread! Also special shoutouts to former moderator and current style beast Millz for shouting out the thread on Twitter last week. Thanks, brother. One more thing! We actually had a special write-in from one of the mod team, specifically /u/kjlop who wanted to share a couple of threads that you might find interesting.

There is an ascendant demon writing prompt on r/WritingPrompts and the legendary dark knight who woke up to justice is nowhere to be seen. Sorry I'm lazy, but can someone correct that?

I wish we could have a more laid back game in the series, so we could see how the characters interact with each other in more casual setting without the fate of the world in the balance. Hope the new anime coming out does what the old one failed to do and delivers to us on that front.

Playing first dmc on hard mode and got stuck on the Nightmare 2. Everytime when he shows up his disco ball - only one way to hit him, he starts to shoot or throws somthing kind of boomerang. And i can't get when and how i should to damage him

    Lady and Trish Inertia?

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 01:16 PM PST

I want to see if the pair have any Inertia tech but I'm not sure on what moves generates Inertia and what loses it. I know enough to use it as Dante but not for the other characters. Really rusty on his too.

Dante can generate it with Straight and Full House, and can carry it into other moves from them iirc. Trish lacks Trickster and Royal Guard to apply that Inertia for aerial momentum but she has an equivalent to both moves for generating it. She can drift with Luce&Ombra and I've had her blink around during her Lunar Phase equivalent and with Aerial Rave a few times. I have no idea what causes it but it suggests she can use Inertia for irregular movement.

Can anyone who has a better understanding of the overall mechanic give me some suggestions on what moves they have that might be able to generate and carry Inertia, based on how it applies to the other 3? I'm curious if Lady can generate it with her Gunstinger or aerial slam drop attack for example.

Edit: Can anyone on PC test something out for me? Lady has a very small amount of horizontal movement in the air when firing Charge Shot 3. I'm curious if the kick back from the shot could be used to generate Inertia. It pushes Lady back slightly and I'm thinking you could use that to collide with an enemy behind you and jump cancel off to carry the Inertia into a gunfire drift. I can't set up a few passive targets to try it with on console and the spacing seems really tricky to attempt on active enemies.

    Dante Personality Discussion - Speculation / Head-canons

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 08:07 AM PST

    Chronologically speaking:

DMC 3 Dante: went from goofy, brash and cocky.

DMC 1 & 2 Dante: serious, kinda virtuous and generous (DMC 2 coin flipping)

DMC 4 & 5 Dante: please reference DMC 3 Dante.

I give this subreddit the following question.

Can anyone come up with a canonical reason or reasonable belief as to why this change of psyche occurred? Is there any feasible reason someone could "revert" in a sense?Everything from personal beliefs to scientific theories are acceptable here.

Personal belief: It was a defense mechanism he needed to survive being trapped in the demon world. It allowed him to stay collected and eventually find a way out. Kinda like a way to combat loneliness. Go back to who he was when he was essentially alone. Even though he has developed a new family of sorts with the current crew he just is unable to shake it. Even thought I frame it as a mental issue its still entertaining as hell.
