Dante Bloody Palace tips and thoughts after clearing DMC4 Bloody Palace

Just cleared DMC4's Bloody Palace using Dante. Least to say it's been hell of a ride, and I'd like to share some thoughts about my experience, and tips for others that might be searching for help.

Surely everything here's been said before, but these are the ones I found effective for me, which is the human level player with no fancy flying combos nor Royal Guard blocking/releases:

    • General tip: Camera manipulation is crucial in levels that are flooding with enemies. In DMC enemies cannot start any attack off screen, which can be used to your advantage greatly. Simply stinger spam one enemy to the edge of the arena can put the others out of the camera.
    • General tip 2: I don't do fancy air combos, but to play DMC4 Dante there are some techniques and glitches that are crucial. First one is Million Stab and Royal Guard to cancel the knockback hit. As DMC4's trickster distance is relatively short compared to DMC5, it is far more efficient to travel with stinger. Cancelling million stab is also crucial to fighting BP Dante on stage 101.
    • General tip 3: Second important tech is of course the Real Impact Distortion glitch, as it's literally the only efficient damage skill a human player can master playing Dante. Standard procedure is to use Rebellion's Prop or High Times to launch an enemy, followed by switching to Gilgamesh Real Impact.
    • Tip on Chimera infested enemies: Never figured it out until recently. Using ranged attacks on them will disable an active infested blade. After you hear a breaking sound effect and the blades stopped swinging, you can get in and do melee combos. I use the shotgun for that.
    • Tip on fausts/mephisto: While they are a nightmare for people that don't know the right tactics, having the knowhow turns them into sandbags. The best method I've found is to jump directly under their cloak and use Shotgun Fireworks skill. That will decloak them within seconds. after that, prop and RI to finish them off.
    • Tip on decloaking Blitz: Decloaking Blitz in BP has forced me to learn how to use Lucifer, and turns out it's a pretty effective weapon against blitz. Basically the trick lies in the skill Pin Up (stinger input for Lucifer). It does not count as Dante making an attack, which doesn't trigger Blitz's damage reflection. So whenever you see the blitz standing idle, get close and spam Pin Up on it. A total of 25? to 30 Lucifer pins will decloak a blitz. Pandora's Omen decloaks them in one go, but you are pretty vulnerable throughout the move, so I suggest only doing it if the blitz enters his long idling after bursting out from the ground.
    • Tip on damaging Blitz: Second part is to get it to stay still for the Real Impact treatment. Simply spamming Real Impact immediately without knocking it down usually results in it jump away or hitting me in the face. Simply hitting it 2 times with Rebellion can light stun it from attacking, but it is pretty hard to knockdown or launch it. I personally do it by using DT before using Prop, seems to increase my chance to launching it.
    • Tip on fighting Blue knights (angelos): The launch and RI strategy works fine against them, but when against groups others may fly in and push you/downed knight out of the way. For launch/knockdown, standard way is to attack their shield once, then jump to the back to launch them. One strategy I've seen online is to loop Rebellion first hit and Yamato's first two hits. Yamato combo A's first two hits are fast enough to stop the parrying attack. But I find it quite ineffective against groups, as others can easily cut in and disrupt your rhythm. If a blue knight is flying, a close up shotgun shot can knock them down for you, but be careful not to follow up with any other attacks or they will switch into standing stun. Sometimes a Gilgamesh Beast Uppercut right at the moment blue knight lets his guard down, can launch him from the front. A DT version of Kick 13 can also work wonders against blue knights sometimes, as it's continuous kicks can sometimes break through their shield parry and launch them.
    • Tip on fighting white knights (angelos): The logic is similar to the blue knights, launch and RI. If you can connect with Rebellion's Dance Macabre, there is a solid chance you can go all the way and launch them. Stop at the final strike and switch to Gilgamesh RI and you're good. Special mention for Stage 99, that white knights will order every batch of blue knights to do suicidal charge at you. There are like dozens of blue knights, so it is highly advised to keep at least one white knight alive on that stage, or you will be wasting a lot of time fighting blue knights.
    • Tip on fighting fire dogs (basilisk): Stinger spam may sound cheap, but I found it pretty effective against those hounds. Stinger spam usually keeps 2~3 hounds stun locked, and keep the camera moving away from others. You can also million stab -> RG cancel it -> launch it for a short air combo, but beware about other hounds firing at you.
    • Tip on fighting BP Dante: Lastly I'd like to share this weird experience that is fighting DMC4's boss Dante. Other bosses usually have large bodies you can hack away freely, or idle moments between attacks like Credo. But that common boss fight logic does not apply on DMC4 boss Dante. Instead, he is only weak when he attacks, and playing as Dante I've found very little effective strategies against him. The only one that I've found, and has carried me throughout the fight, is the simple pistol shot and million stab. Turns out shooting pistol shots at him, where he shoots back to deflect, counts as him attacking. Million stab/stinger right after that, and you will catch him vulnerable, and it works every time he does it. So except in his RG phase, try shooting the pistol. If he shoots back, immediately do a million stab on him. Cancel the million stab with royal guard, and you can now attack him normally.

If anyone reads this and knows more good tips on it, please share it down in the comments. While I probably won't be starting another DMC4 BP anytime soon, someone else may find it useful.

Does Beowulf takes elemental damage from Nevan?

    Posted: 06 Mar 2022 02:53 AM PST

For context, Im doing a yellow new game before trying DMD on main save file and in the mission you fight with Geryon I haved an idea, using Cerberus, my logic was if cerberus took elemental damage from Agni and Rudra will Geryon take elemental damage from Cerberus since Geryon is covered in fire?, the answer is yes (Everyday I learn something new about this game), so following that logic

Does Beowulf takes elemental damage from Nevan since Beowulf is light and Nevan is like darkness? Not skilled enough with Nevan for trying and It sounds like a hard thing to try but maybe some of you know or want to try it

DMC3 on normal difficulty is harder than DMC5 on Dante must die difficulty

    Posted: 05 Mar 2022 03:43 PM PST

So I recently decided to try and replay dmc3. And the process of playing through this game I've realized that dmc5 has spoiled me with how easy it is it in comparison. Seriously saturated when I say the DMC3 on normal difficulty is infinitely more difficult and more frustrating than DMC5 is on Dante must die difficulty.

    Am I missing something???

    Posted: 06 Mar 2022 08:49 AM PST

So I've beaten DMC5 and decided to look through the gallery. I got to the enemy repots and saw that in the boss reports, right after Vergil, there are question marks. Is my game just glitching out or did I miss something somehow?

What other Hack N Slash game from Capcom should return too?

    Posted: 05 Mar 2022 08:53 PM PST

I will forever be grateful for the fact that Capcom was kind enough to revive the King of Stylish/Character Action with a direct sequel. But do you think it's time to give other Capcom IPs a chance to shine? And what do you think would be the next to come back?

    Dumb Theory

    Posted: 06 Mar 2022 07:16 AM PST

Since Dante was able to somewhat move in a time freezing bubble, which was able to make everything around them stand still if we go off by some cut scenes of when he gets his Quicksilver, doesn't that mean he's faster than light?
