    Where's your motivation??

It seems that the "Angels" do exist in the Devil May Cry series after all. Because no matter if there are only demons in the Devil May Cry series, the details of the "Angels" are already there from none other than the lore of Devil May Cry series itself. (Read the full text below)

    Posted: 12 Feb 2022 12:03 AM PST

Lots of examples of the angels are already there in the lore of DMC series:

    1. In DMC1, statue of an angel can be found in the fountain courtyard. If you examine it, it's said to be the "Guardian of a God".

    2. In DMC3 Manga, it's suggested that demons were once angels, though why that changed is left unexplained. The DMC3 Library description of The Fallen seems to confirm this theory. They're also said to have possessed a high degree of apparent beauty.

    3. (a) In DMC4, some of the Holy Knights of the Order of the Sword had undergone the so-called Ascension Ceremony, under the promise of being turned into angels. However, as Nero points out, all that this has done is turn them into demons.

    (b) DMC4 also features an item, called Wing Talisman, which is said to contain a "crystallized angel wing", and is able to "stimulate a divine response in specific equipment".

Note that in several DMC games, there are demons sharing the title of "Angelo" (Italian for "Angel"). They can be roughly separated in two groups. Although, they're all related to each other:

    • The products of Agnus's research on the "Dark Angel" (Nelo Angelo) in DMC4: Bianco Angelos, Alto Angelos, and angel forms of Credo and himself. While Bianco Angelos are said to be mere empty armors possessed by a demon or a human soul, the rest on this list are humans who underwent Ascension Ceremony.

    • The group of Angelos are directly related to Nelo Angelo, the form Vergil had while in servitude to Mundus. DMC5 introduces Scudo Angelo and Proto Angelo, said to be mass produced versions of the original (Nelo Angelo), and Cavaliere Angelo being one of the more advanced results of such attempts. Nico mentions a theory that all those demons were created by transubstantiating an unwilling human victim into demon flesh.

Decided to try Lost Ark. Featuring Vergil from the Devil May Cry series.

Vergil was too motivated for physics to handle

Why do some people see Vergil as sympathetic in DMC5?

    Posted: 12 Feb 2022 04:12 AM PST

It bugged me in DMC5 that Vergil cuts off Nero's arm, turns into Urizen, and then proceeds to kill off basically the entire Red Grave City and drink everyone's blood. Then when he turns back into Vergil everyone seems chill with him

Like this is a really bad guy who killed thousands of people to get power. It's almost the same as in DMC3 when he raised a tower out of Hell to get more power

Yet I've seen people on the forum defend him because he didn't intend to do these things when he split into Urizen. What gives?

Is Vergil sympathetic or an asshole? Thoughts

    Question About Vergil

    Posted: 12 Feb 2022 04:37 AM PST

I remember hearing somewhere that style in DMC4 was balanced around Vergil at full concentration, meaning if you didn't have high concentration you'd have a much harder time reaching triple S. Whereas in DMC5 it's balanced around Vergil with no concentration. It's not hard to reach a triple S if you're running on empty, and having full concentration just makes it easier. Is this correct?

Why is DMC4 so damn hard?

    Posted: 12 Feb 2022 01:07 AM PST

I've finished DMC3SE with both characters on every difficulty. Stopped playing the Bloody Palace around level 600 usually I think (dunno I was a teen, 28 now) out of boredom.

I've finished DMC5 on every difficulty, currently working on S scoring them all and finishing it all again as Vergil. I've finished it's Bloody Palace with all 4 characters (has to be said, with V used super).

So I thought, time to go back to 4. And I lose Bloody Palace on floor 11. My record is appearantly 17 as Dante. What the hell?! I'm killing them as fast as I can, and from previous achievements you can imagine I'm not exactly new to this.

What's so different in 4 that makes it so damn more difficult?

The human world antagonist for Nero in DMC6, while the Sparda brothers take revenge on Mundus?

    Posted: 11 Feb 2022 04:47 PM PST

What would be the best choice for a human world antagonist for Nero & gang to fight in the human world?

The next antagonist should be either a human, demon(ness), half-breed or another species.

But what kind of occupation you picture such a being for Nero to fight and protect humanity from? Nero could sure use a worthy adversary of his own to battle since the Order who betrayed him.

Should it be a CEO prez of a company since Uroboros? A cult leader like a priest more dangerous than Sanctus but like say… Brother Blood and Osmund Saddler? A former knight of the Order's Holy Knights trained under Credo until kicked out for trying to kill Nero out of jealousy for Kyrie's attention, now prejudice hunter wanting to rid the world of demons and hybrids? A demon/demoness who wants to replace Mundus and be the new king/queen? A half-breed born artificially? Or someone from another race outside the demons?

You all decide in the comments below on what type you see. Nero needs his own motivation like his father!

What direction you see Nero go when facing his greatest challenge yet?

    Vergil Mission 12 S Rank

    Posted: 11 Feb 2022 09:37 PM PST

How would you describe each character's playstyle and why?

    Posted: 12 Feb 2022 12:30 AM PST

    So to put an example:

Dante: Versatile, he has a LOT of options at his disposal and pretty much is a walking multi-tool box. He has many ways to deal with any situation.

Nero: Straightforward, he has few options but he manages that by having them to work enough for general purposes, also Devil Breakers which act as 'tactical' tools that each of them specialize in their own way.

V: lol (Barely played him so can't really say a lot).

Vergil: Efficient, he has few options but each option he has he does it extremely well, he's a technician, so to speak. He has an option for every single situation. Specialized trick for defense, solid short weapon movesets and summoned swords which can act both as attacking and self-preservation tools.

    What are your descriptions?
