Anyone else feels like it's a miracle that this game series still exists?

    Posted: 03 Oct 2021 04:35 AM PDT

I can't help but think that the stars really aligned when it comes to the success of this series. After a colossal fail (not sales wise but game wise) like DMC2, it's not rare to see game franchises just die. If they want to bounce back, the next installment needs to be an absolute banger. And DMC3 is. But the original release for North America was way more difficult than for an other world region. Which I'm sure almost put a final nail on the coffin of DMC. What's the point in making a fantastic game, if most of the players can't even reach mission 4? And if anyone has ever tried doing a new game hard mode run, you know the pain. Dark Souls ain't got shit on that. I'm european so I got lucky back then, but I'm pretty sure if I had the american version of the game I would have straight up quit it, at least for many many years (I was a kid back then and didn't enjoy difficulty in games).

I am just extremely thankful to all our American devil hunters that persevered, didn't quit and, with the help of the internet, aided in propelling the series' popularity to new heights. Of course the european and japanese YT scene where alive and well, but I don't think we'd be here now, pulling our devil triggers and burying the light, if the americans had just quit the game en masse.

All of this to say that DMC really is a blessed series of videogames lol

Can you imagine them re-implementing it in DMC5 as a style other than Dante with the Vergil we have now?

    Don’t you dare say it—!

    Playing ring around the rosie

Sparda sword cool, Alastor blah blah blah, ifrit true lore on this one. Never knew it was this hot and never knew even volcano lava couldn't do anything against frosts. This means ifrit is hot as hell, literally. Ok speed feat on next one isn't anything extraordinary for Dante.

Dante and Vergil's Personas. I won't tell you which is which.

Here's hoping DMC breaks its even-numbered titles curse with the next installment.

    Posted: 03 Oct 2021 10:56 AM PDT

Ever noticed that odd-numbered titles in DMC (1,3,5) were phenomenal, but the even-numbered ones were underwhelming?

Does anyone actually prefer playing V and Nero as opposed to Dante and why?
