Devil May Cry games on sale in Capcom games sale for PC

    Posted: 07 May 2021 05:48 PM PDT

Cannot launch the game, forcing alt tab out. Please help

    Posted: 07 May 2021 07:54 PM PDT

Hello, I download DMC5 on steam, but when the game launches, I'm unable to focus into the application's window. The game will start loading fine if im tabbed out of the window. If I try to click or alt-tab to focus the application, my screen flickers back, the game stops loading anything and I'm forced alt-tab out.

    Specs: Windows 10 RTX 2070S Ryzen 5 3600

I've tried using one monitor instead of 2, restarting the PC, updating Nvidea drivers, having everything closes such as Discord and Wallpaper Engine.

Sad to know that 90% of people who played dmc 5 won't experience the complexity of the game

    Posted: 07 May 2021 01:55 PM PDT

Seeing streamers just spamming stinger, SDT and using tons of golden orbs till the end of the game thinking "ok that was dmc "It's just sad, dmc games are designed to be played many times on higher difficulties, experimenting with mechanics and trying to be stylish, everyone who played them at least 2 times knows this

What if DMC became more... exaggerated

    Posted: 07 May 2021 05:22 PM PDT

What I mean is what if the series going forward started to become even more exaggerated when it comes to it's actions cutcenes. Of course there's some crazy scenes like Dante riding a motor cycle up a tower or blocking a punch from a statue god but overall in comparison to a lot of other Hack N Slash games, DMC is fairly tame when it comes to huge set pieces as most of their action stuff is relatively small in scale (although they make up for that with fun and witty dialogue and Savior obviously is an exception) What I'm saying is what if we kicked it up a notch and we have Nero or Dante flying in DT dodging buildings being thrown at them by a huge demon or having more huge set piece action scenes in the veins of a platinum game. I'm not saying the change would be wanted or needed but I want to hear what you're guys thoughts would be if it did go in that direction

But have the enemies decided who will die first?

I absolutely love Vergil in dmc5... How do i not only do that taunt xD i feel like it's a 9/10 chance he does it.

Playing as V on DMD is a miserable experience

    Posted: 07 May 2021 09:11 AM PDT

So I recently picked up a PS5 and decided to get DMC5SE but it's just reminding me once again how bad this character is compared to the rest of the cast. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on him cause of his emo/goth design... it's not really my cup of tea, but it doesn't bother me either and I think he fits in just fine with the rest of cast, and I think the idea of a summoner character in DMC is actually pretty cool, and he can be a blast to play on Devil Hunter or Son of Sparda... but either I just suck with him, or he's too flawed to be able to keep up when it comes to Dante Must Die.

I get that he's supposed to be weaker than the other characters from a story standpoint, but imo it's to the point where he's just not fun to use, and it really puts me off continuing my DMD playthrough whenever I reach the next V level, which sucks because Devil May Cry is one of my all time favourite video game series. The other characters are all super fun to use and it feels like the game provides you with more than enough tools and options to cope with whatever scenarios they throw at you, so when I take damage or die with one of them, generally I feel like it was my own fault and I can pinpoint what my mistakes were and what I need to try and do differently next time. This is rarely the case with V.

A big part of his problem is that V is completely dependant on his pets both for defense and offense, but with the damage output of enemies on DMD they feel far too squishy and it can be difficult to keep track of both of them along with whatever enemies you're fighting to avoid them taking damage, which isn't made any easier by the fact that they're both dark colours and DMC5 is a lot darker than the other entries in general... and speaking of it being hard to keep track of things, Nightmare makes so much mess between all his lasers, explosions, etc. that I often find myself getting hit by enemies I couldn't even see were attacking when I summon him cause they were hidden behind all the visual clutter.

His damage output also feels very low compared to the rest of the cast outside of a small handful of moves which can make his combat feel very repetitive if you want to deal damage efficiently, but you kind of need to otherwise his fights can end up getting very prolonged which just raises your chances of something going wrong, and this is further compounded when the enemies go into DT.

Then there's the targeting system which feels extremely wonky in DMC5 to me, and it's something I don't really feel like I ever really see anyone else call out. It isn't exclusively a V issue either; so many times I'll be comboing an enemy and go for an uppercut to launch them, except instead of doing an uppercut my character will turn 180 degrees and go for a Stinger/Streak/Rapid Slash on an enemy that's completely out of range on the opposite side of the room, or I'll spike an enemy out of an air-combo and go for a Helm Breaker (or respective equivalent) only for my character to target another enemy entirely and go flying off in the completely the wrong direction, which I feel like never happened to me in the other DMCs, but the targeting issues feel most problematic with V because you often want to be able to focus down key targets to eliminate them ASAP. This was especially bothersome in the Nidhog fight where you want to try and manage your damage output so all the worms die at the same time but it's made unnecessarily difficult by the wonky targeting system picking enemies seemingly at random, and you're meant to be able to change targets by pressing L3 when you're locked on but I swear it just straight up doesn't work a lot of the time.

Also, he's the only character that has no means of recovering health during boss fights cause he doesn't recover health with DT; making enemies more likely to drop green orbs when Nightmare is out is all fine and well when you're killing mobs, but it does nothing for you during boss fights and I feel like V needs a reliable way to be able to recover health way more than the other characters.

Sorry for the long post... just needed to vent. Does anyone have any tips or useful guides for using V effectively in DMD?

After playing DMC1, DMC3SE, and DMC5 (with Vergil), is DMC4SE worth my $25?

(Edit): After seeing the positive responses, it sounds like a good purchase! I'll keep thinking about it, and I might make the purchase tonight.

Help finding 15 minute Faust Dance Mod video?

    Posted: 07 May 2021 08:27 PM PDT

I'm looking for that 15 minute video of Dante getting the Faust hat with different characters modded in. I can't find it for some reason. I think it opened up with Vergil's monologue about switching having each other's lives too. Thanks for any help.

Do gamer fingers help with playing musical instruments?

    Posted: 07 May 2021 07:40 AM PDT

I know this might be a childish question, but I'd like to know if anyone had an experience with this. And if anyone, it would be a dmc player. I've poured countless hours into DMC5, not to mention many other games. I'm comparable to all those crazy combo YouTube players. All that experience memorizing and timing. All that hand-eye coordination practice, at has to help to an extent, right? I'm thinking of picking up an instrument when I have the time, And I guess the question here is, has any hardcore dmc player here noticed an easier experience than others while learning an instrument?
