    Potential future of DMC

    So DMC will probably continue after 5, I've decided to explore where the series could go from here.

    Now let's get this out the way, it doesn't really matter if the story is a Dante, Vergil and Nero adventure, or just Nero centric, or Dante and Vergil centric. It can work either way.

    I'm talking mainly about a potential Villain, it can really be anything. We've seen both demons and humans, albeit using demonic power, as villains. I have an idea who you could use.

    I know Mundus is a popular pick, but he would need an amp of sorts to be able to actually be a threat. Dante is able to both Abigail and Argosax, Mundus' equals, by himself before even getting his SDT. He even kills Argosax so easily that he forgot he did it. Even if you retconned the anime and 2 out the timeline, Dante would still be superior by absorbing the Sparda, unless Mundus gets a buff. But still plausible.

    Now you could give Mundus a half-breed kid like Sparda for the sake of using them against Dante after seeing how strong mixed bloods could be, and have the story be about him/her and Nero, switching their perspective. Like have them be kind of like Dante and Vergil, as rivals. Except with the difference of them becoming friends/allies at the end and not killing each other like Dante and Vergil did before Nero stepping in, emphasizing how Nero is different to Dante and Vergil. Probably isn't in Mundus' character to have a human kid, but using them like a tool would make more sense. Interesting possibility, but would likely have to be Nero centric. Save Dante and Vergil for a potential DMC7, or DMC6SE

    Lastly is Pluto, aka the og demon king before Mundus. While he is being used in Pinnacle of combat, I don't think that's canon, so he can still be used here. Not much is known about this old Demon King, and I might be confusing him with Mundus. If I recall correctly, he shows up for one panel of the DMC3 manga and is never heard of again until Pinnacle of Combat. He was there during the creation of the world, and one of the first beings to exist. How the writers would use him is up to them, his power is unknown, he could be beyond everyone we've currently seen, or just a match for Nero.

    He can work in a Nero centric game, a Dante and Vergil centric one, or one featuring all 3. His motivations, and reason for being there can also be shaped by the writer. They can have it be like Dante and Vergil deal with his shenanigans in the demon world and gather information while Nero wonders why there's an increase in demons in the human world. It could end with all three teaming up on him at the end, or not if you want it to be Nero centric.

    Unless Pinnacle of combat is somehow canon, rendering the theory useless.

    No one is goin to read this whole thing will they.

    TL;DR: Mundus could comeback, Mundus could have a kid to use against Dante and be Nero's rival, or we could cover Pluto, the og Demon King, if Pinnacle of Combat isn't canon. We've have a few options
