In the DMC5 Art Book, there's this piece of concept art showing the day (21 Oct) Tony Redgrave got the deed to his office.

Did someone say DMC2 Dante has the most style?

    Posted: 21 Oct 2020 12:45 PM PDT

I was watching some old Power Rangers clips with Daniel Southworth in them and it's honestly amazing how much of Vergil's personality existed in the Quantum Ranger's personality. This whole scene literally sounds like something out of DMC.

Why Sparda gave the Rebellion to Dante and the Yamato to Vergil.

    Posted: 21 Oct 2020 04:23 PM PDT

"Why did my father give me the Rebellion?"

Why indeed. It is in this moment that Dante realizes the true nature of his signature blade. However, it isn't actually answered as to why it was given to him in the first place. After some thought, I think there is a simple explanation:

Sparda believed Dante to be the less powerful of the twins, and gave him the weapon that could absorb demonic power and enhance his own.

Sparda wasn't likely the best father. He was a demon after all. Even with a heart, it is unlikely he knew how to be a human father. So when the twins were born, his first thought was likely how they could be the ones to fully destroy Mundus, and any other demon that dare become Emperor. And so they began their training.

We know Dante and Vergil fought each other as kids; they say as much in M19 of DMC 5. It can be assumed that this was training, with Sparda as their mentor. While we don't know exactly who won those fights, it would be reasonable to say that it was Vergil.

Vergil was a quiet and studious child, while Dante was more like an actual kid-wanting to play and have fun. Vergil would his training seriously, while Dante would dismiss it as a game. This would influence Sparda's decision as to who got what sword.

I imagine that Sparda preferred the Yamato over the Rebellion. While the Force Edge, and it's true form of the DSS, was the same kind of weapon, it is clear that the Yamato has more power to it, indicated by the fact that it slices through dimensions. As such, Sparda would gift his favored blade to his favored son. The wielder of the Yamato is powerful alongside the blade, while the wielder of the Rebellion grows in power alongside the blade. Sparda must've imagined that once Dante absorbed the Rebellion alongside other demonic power stored within, that he would be equal to Vergil in terms of power. The reality, however, is a great irony that would see Sparda chuckle.

In reality, Dante became the more powerful brother. His heart and determination saw him grow his power naturally over time, eventually surpassing his father and brother. Vergil meanwhile usurped his power, with him attempting to take the power of Sparda, as well as eating the Fruit of the Qliphoth, much like Mundus did. It's poetic, true strength comes from the heart, and not by taking it from others, the swords representing that fact. The power of the Yamato comes from within it, while the Rebellion takes the power for itself. So in truth, Dante should have been the one to wield the Yamato, while Vergil should have been the one to wield the Rebellion, as they are more representative of their respective characters. It shows the beauty and complexity of this series' story, and I'm excited to see what further character developments we will see for the Legendary Sons of Sparda.

"... He who desires, but acts not... Breeds pestilence." "... And it grew day and night, until it bore an apple bright" So it is written. I made V's poetry book from Devil May Cry 5. How's it look? (I know it's not perfect, I drew it all myself)

    Posted: 21 Oct 2020 10:49 AM PDT

So, Devil May Cry fans... You've probably played and replayed DMC5 to the point of getting bored of it, I'd wager... But have you played THIS criminally underrated Hideki Kamiya gem yet ? And what is your excuse for NOT having played it yet ?

    Posted: 21 Oct 2020 10:28 AM PDT

I am talking, ofcourse, about the stunningly original, the idiotically optimistic, the vibrantly colorful, the amazingly deep THE WONDERFUL 101 !!!

If you are bored, or down, or just straight-up depressed - please, try this absolutely brilliant game NOBODY is talking about or playing much of. It is re-released since May on PC, PS4 and Nintendo Switch, it doesn't cost much, it's only about 10 gigabytes in size and it might be this OP's very own's THE Game of the Year 2020 !

It is the game we don't deserve, but it is DEFINITELY THE GAME WE NEEDED THIS YEAR !

But why should you listen to me, a measly redditor when Matthewmatosis can fill you in in this 10+ minutes long video here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rysBiZmYshk&t=516s

P.S. This OP's intention is only to spread awareness of this awesome gaming software. No commercial interest in this whatsoever. This OP is just feeling a deeply-seated scorn due to the pathetically low interest and awareness of the game in question in the avarage gamer's ranks. Please, please try it out. I haven't wanted a sequel of a game to happen this much since... Goddamn Viewtiful Joe or God Hand or something !!! ARGH !!!

    DMC5 - Bosses dialogues & death dialogues

    Posted: 21 Oct 2020 02:25 PM PDT

In ca crossover. How would dante (post dmc 3) react to integra alucard and seras(from hellsing just after the first fight with Anderson))?

    Posted: 21 Oct 2020 05:54 PM PDT

Like if integra sent alucard and seras to America to investigate the temen ni gru incident.

I know it's never said where DMC takes place but I just say America because of the obvious lax gun laws plus the Abrams tank in dmc 2

So... how exactly did Nero awaken his DT in 5?

    Posted: 21 Oct 2020 03:00 PM PDT

Like, was it from his desire to stop the rivalry between Vergil and Dante? Was he experiencing so many emotions at once that the blood of Sparda reacted to it? I'm legit confused on the reason why Nero got his unique DT at the end.
