    Idea for Nero

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 04:36 PM PST

I got an idea or concept for Nero, to have use of the directional button in the controller.

UP button: will be for his Devil Trigger

LEFT button: will make his left arm demonic (but his body is still human form, except for the left arm), and will increase attack speed/ damage of the Red Queen. Consumes a bar of Devil Trigger.

RIGHT button: will make his right arm demonic, this will increase the damage of the Blue Rose, or will automatically charge the Blue Rose, or improve the snatch ability and stuff.

DOWN button: It can be for the Legs or Body. Well for the legs, will increase the speed of Nero, as well as enhance dodging or jumping. For the body part, my idea is, it will reduce the damage Nero will take, or it can also be like cavalier of Dante, where in Dante won't stagger even if he was hit.

    So, what do you think??

Now that i think on it, dante and vergil's sole weakness is that they can be worn down.

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 08:29 AM PST

For two halfdemons with a healing factor so insane it literally heals through damage, AS IT'S HAPPENING- you'd think they'd be nigh invincible gods. but one of the biggest plot points in devil may cry 3, and something that was also done in devil may cry 1, is that dante and vergil can be worn down if they're persistently fighting over a great length of time. Arkham engineered just such a situation because he knew that vergil and dante needed a period to recover, and that the fastest way to wear them out was to simply pit them against one another in order for him to deal the crippling blow and unleash hell on the world.

In devil may cry 1, mundus made mallet island into a death trap exclusively designed to wear dante down, by the end of the fight dante is visibly tired when mundus corners him during the final mission, to the point where he's even worried he might not make it.

and in devil may cry 5, nero manages to get the upper hand on both of them because they literally just finished fighting one another, and before that dante got smacked around so hard he had to recover for a full month with assistance from the qlipoth!

Point being, if there were a consistent way to render dante vulnerable or weak at any point in time, this is the proven method. it takes a lot of time invested, and a lot of pawns ready to die, but if one were to say, put dante in a castle full of hell's mightiest archdemons and then seal the deal by having him face down a demon king right afterward, it's entirely possible that dante wouldn't make it unless he got something that gave him a major advantage somewhere along the way.

Thought i'd point that out, the writing for this particular means of stopping dante has been consistent across the franchise, any time dante's in dire straits, it's usually because he's already been fighting like hell and is just too tired to keep fighting.

Enhanced Combat for playable Vergil is my favourite mod for boss Vergil

[Hypothetical]Devil May Cry 5s next DLC includes one weapon from a previous DMC but updated and beautifully rendered. Which weapon would you choose?

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 06:44 PM PST

Personally I'd see Agni and Rudra or Nevan, I picture them modifying the move sets and would love to see modern day Dante blasting out wicked rifts at Vergil mid fight. As far as A&R goes there whirlwind combo is a must have but they can do whatever else they want to with them.

Idea for how Vergil’s Doppelgänger could work in DMC5se

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 12:19 PM PST

    • Controls - D-Pad Up - Summon/Cancel Doppelgänger D-Pad Right - Rotate Doppelgänger's Weapon Forwaed (Yamato>Beowulf>Force Edge) D-Pad Left - Rotate Doppelgänger's Weapon Backward (Y>FE>B) D-Pad Down - Increase Doppelgänger's Delay
    • Description - The Doppelgänger works exactly like Dante's Sword Formations, requiring two pips of DT to summon out of DT and staying out for a set period of time, but having unlimited use in DT. Unlike Sword Formations, the Doppelgänger is not automatically summoned by entering DT. The Doppelgänger can switch weapons independently of Vergil. The Doppelgänger will copy Vergil's attacks or preform the equivalent attack with the weapon it has. The delay between Vergil's attack and the Doppelgänger's can be increased twice before resetting back to default.

What's the training mode for DMC4?

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 01:18 PM PST

Decided to bounce back to DMC4SE on PC after awhile, and I want to practice to get rid of the rust. Though I don't want to have to fight enemies to do so.

I heard that there was a trainer of sorts that you can use to sorta do this? Jump into different levels, spawn specific enemies and bosses etc, replace Vergil's normal dodge with his DT dodge. Is there anywhere that I can find this?

DMC 5 Mission 8 No damage HaH

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 05:27 PM PST

    Hello there, quick question!

Does getting it by Standing Urizen with Nero at the end of Mission 8 breaks the "No damage" 2x bonus on Hell and Hell mode?

The answer to this question will determine whether I attempt to get 100% achievements or not.

So, I'm looking to get a tattoo of Dante's Cameo icon, but for the life of me I can't find a decent high quality image.

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 01:09 PM PST

I know a few images have been posted but they're not going to look great in a larger image due to the pixelation (for the artist's reference).

Any help would be appreciated massively!

Favorite environment designs in the series?

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 06:50 PM PST

For me, I honestly have to say it goes like this,

    1.DmC

    2.DMC1

    3.DMC5

    4.DMC4

    5.DMC3

    6.DMC2

I know we all love to give the reboot flak on this subreddit, and given that the classic series was put on hold for a fucking decade because of it, the vitriol certainly understandable, but I stand by that it still did some genuinely good things, with the look of the various locations you explore being honest to god great. Out of all of the DMC games in the franchise, I can honestly say that DmC's environments all mostly stand out in my head and were all very vivid. I particularly enjoyed all the prominent colors the levels had and the sense that the world itself was literally out to get you in Limbo. I especially enjoyed Donte's mental landscape areas where you get new abilities. The contrast of warm blue and orange combined with the sea surrounding you and Escher-esq buildings in the distance just towering up into the skies really stuck out in my head. I also liked how much more calm it was compared to the rest of Limbo, giving off the vibe that you can breathe easy for a bit.

From there, while I can certainly say it shows it's age in a few areas, DMC1's various locals still stand out fondly in my head and all feel very distinct, which is helped by all the observations on the environment Dante has if you examine stuff. It's all definitely stuff that was held over from DMC1 initially being an RE game, but I think it helped make the game and places you explore feel profound and different from any other game in the series.

From there, I don't really have much else to say. DMC5 was made with the cutting edge of gaming tech, and it certainly shows with how impressive Redgrave City and the Qliphoth look, with the arena where you face Urizen for the final time and the final levels particularly standing out in my head.

DMC4's environments were pretty generic, but I did genuinely like the mix of medieval and modern Fortuna had.

Now, I love practically everything about DMC3, and can honestly understand why people think it's a more profound experience than 5 -hell, I honestly gotta say I agree given that you can get maximum impact from 3 without playing previous games in the series- but despite being impressive at first glance, I didn't really find the locations you explore in the Temen-Ni-Gru to be all that interesting, with the only real exceptions being the basement area (Why is their a moon and sky while we're undergroud? I don't know why, but I like it), the demon world, and the various arenas where you face the game's bosses, with all of the places where you fight Vergil standing out in my head and fitting the mood of each fight nicely. Everything else just kinda blended together in my eyes.

Finally... DMC2's environments just kinda blended together into a dreary, miserable.. thing that was... eh, but I will admit that combined with the game's OST, helped convey this somber, cold atmosphere which I admittedly liked.

So yeah, what about you guys? When it comes to locales, which DMC game is your favorite???
