Hey there!

We've got some changes coming to the subreddit. Hopefully things you'll all appreciate and enjoy.

First up: A rule addition. This has been something that rarely comes up, but we thought it would be good to clear this up to prevent future confusion.

Porn is not allowed on the sub. We do allow NSFW in the form of bikini shots, even nudes under certain circumstances (like tasteful stuff. Nothing like full penetration and the sort.) But anything that crosses into explicitly sexual acts will be removed. So we will be adding a new rule:

Rule #9: No Porn

Anything that shows an explicitly sexual act will be removed. This includes full penetration and the sort. Tasteful nudes and bikini shots are allowed. Stuff that is considered tasteful: church murals, magazine covers, artistic depictions of characters in non-explicit sexual acts, and in-game screenshots (unmodded.)

Second up: We've heard some of the community's complaints about the more serious threads getting lost and missing out on the recognition they deserve. There have been a few suggestions given out over time but we felt that they either suppressed the majority or just were't sustainable in the long run, unless DMC began to release constant content.

However. Variety is just as important to the sub. So in an effort to bring more traffic to these threads, we will be initiating two changes to the sub and increasing our use of the sub's Twitter. Changes are listed below:

1) Every week the mod team will pin user submitted threads that we believe deserve more attention, for a thread to be eligable for this pin it either has to showcase considerable skill in a creation (combos, fan art, etc.) or be a thread that is interesting to discuss (like an interesting analysis about something DMC related) It'll be chosen and pinned at the weeks start and will be unpinned when the next is chosen. We're hoping to cycle pinned threads a few times up until Friday. On Friday we will be implementing our second change.

2) We'll be having a weekly roundup of interesting threads at the week's end. This curated list will be pinned on the subs front page and stay up throughout the weekend. Here, the mod team will show off what we believe to be the best threads of the week AND bring attention to threads we might not have been able to pin. This is to help combat the fact that we can only have two pins at a time and we'll always have either the Q&A thread pinned or an important announcement (like AMAs and the sort.)

3) This isn't a change to the sub, but we'll be using our Twitter to highlight threads throughout the week. Any sort of thread is eligible as long as it follows the rules. Follow us on Twitter @DMCSubreddit to see what we share!

A note; dmc news will take pin priority. So if there's ever a heavy news week, you may not see a pinned thread that week, and we'll do the round up soon as we can.

Outside of the rule addition, these changes will be implemented starting with our first pinned thread next Monday. So get to showing off those skills or discussing DMC and you might find yourself pinned soon.
