"I shall surpass Sparda" is a taunt in DMC5. Is this just for old taunt sake or is Sparda more powerful than we thought?

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 06:20 PM PST

This might be looking into things way too much and they just wanted to put in a taunt from 4. But I found it interesting that DMC5 Vergil would say that...do you think Sparda is a lot more powerful or since SE Vergil isn't cannon they decided to throw it in there?

Just a small detail I love in the final cutscene of Vergil's DMC5SE campaign

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 02:00 AM PST

Vergil cried whenever Eva got mad, and Dante cried whenever Sparda raised his voice.

Vergil was afraid of his human parent, Dante his demon parent.

After everything broke bad, Vergil rejected his humanity and sought demonic power. Dante did the same with his demon side.

The parent they feared most was the side of themselves they went on to fear most, as well.

I AM THE LUCKIEST BOI TO EVER LIVE

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 06:07 AM PST

It's my birthday today and my dad bought me a 50 buck gift card so I could buy the HD collection and 4se bundle, but as it turns out, IT'S ON A 50% DISCOUNT. So now I've got 27 bucks left, WHICH IS ALSO ENOUGH FOR DMC5 . But I don't think I'm gonna buy dmc5 yet since the special edition is out on ps5 so I'm just gonna wait until I get one.

Either way, I've got 4 new games and 27 bucks left to spare in my psn account. I'm so happy

Does Vergil have any skins in DMC5SE?

I'm aware he doesn't have the cloak skin everyone wanted, but does he have his DMC3 colours?

I Did The Unthinkable And Played Devil May Cry 2.

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 08:08 PM PST

I always defend this game and yet never actually played it. I decided to play all the games in order and after finishing 3 and 1 set off to play Devil May Cry 2, and I fucking hate it. Well at the start I did, mid way through I figured out the combat system and the difficulty actually started feeling like a Devil May Cry,

Heres a few tricks to enjoying the game:

Understand the game was made to start out on easy on purpose due to the fact it started development right around the time DMC1 was wrapping up and by the time they were mid way through with there own development they'd found out the first game had been hard and this keep people from finishing it. Unfortunately that opinin changed by the time they finished the game and it turned out people though put off then felt a accomplishment from beating DMC1.

The other issue was the revamped combat system , they werent sure if the combat system in 1 was good enough, and they set out to try to make a better system. Short answer they didn't, however the combat system actually makes sense and works once you play it for a while.

This is kinda how it works since Dante is more serious the taunt function is gone, in order to extend a combo you need to mix your guns into it. so let's say I do an B combo that ends with a round house , the enemy is purpously pushed away I now need to continue this combo by using guns and approaching the enemy as I approach him I can do a stinger but that would push him away again and I'd be left using my pistols to keep the co bo going agian, or I can do that pop up with dantes sword at which point I got two options a few aerial kicks that act as follow ups of I keep the lock on selected, if I let r1 go I can do a down stroke back down instead. The combat system isn't broken it's just different.

The boss design is a toss up, some are good some are awful , I feel like the first few bosses where made to get you used to the mechanics and could have been better.

The amulet system is great it lets you customize your devil trigger in meaningful ways, including swapping from speed to the ability of flight which lets you even avoid certain puzzles all together assuming you got devil trigger built up.

Its not the strongest game but once you get into relearning the game it's fairly fun , can't wait to get to the Lucia half and also unlock hard mode and Dante must die.
