Who did Vergil think Nero was?

    Posted: 09 Jan 2020 02:14 PM PST

Near the end of DMCV when Vergil and Dante are fighting Vergil says "Nero is my son?" and Dante replies back "Yeah, dumbass". So when Vergil took the Yamato from Nero did he have any real awareness or was he simply driven by pure desire to get the Yamato back? Also is the Yamato only usable by those with the blood of Sparda?

The most UNDERRATED track from Devil May Cry

    Posted: 09 Jan 2020 11:37 AM PST

Devine Hate is my 2nd favorite of all time (the first of course being Devils Never Cry). Devine Hate (both Dante and Vergil's remixes) is hands down the #1 battle theme out of all the DMC games. I just can't get how much it is under appreciated! It's even in only 4 missions of DMC3 (14, 15, 16 and 17). And for the DMC5 add-ons, it wasn't even included!

DMC1 - What’s the best way to fight Nightmare on DMD to avoid having red cores on Nightmare 3?

    Posted: 09 Jan 2020 06:28 PM PST

DMC newbie here. Playing through the series for the very first time and having a blast! I'm just now embarking on my DMD run now for the platinum trophy, but I want to have a strategy in place before I encounter that literal Nightmare of a boss again!

Unfortunately, I learned about the cores the hard way during my Hard mode run, and discovered that you can actually mess up your game pretty badly by beating up the cores too much in earlier battles (which of course I did). I had a heck of a time beating him with no items because by the time I reached Nightmare 3 all his cores were red and my damage output was so minimal towards the end that I literally couldn't see his health bar moving. Winning that fight was a soul crushing slog, made worse by the horrific camera angles in that tiny little arena.

What is the best way to avoid a similar situation in DMD? How can you avoid changing the orbs colours or cracking them open? I'm still not fully clear on how the carry-over mechanics work in this fight so any advice is appreciated!
